MA in Elementary and Early Childhood Education, UT
Mathematics License Gr.7-12
 
I have been teaching non-stop since 1978 (you do the math) in nearly every grade from kindergarten through college. The first 28 years were at the elementary level, first as a classroom and upper grades math teacher at Trinity Lutheran School in Toledo and then as a Math Specialist at Nathan Hale.  With fear and trepidation I began teaching high school the second year TECHS was open.  I have been pleasantly surprised at how delightful it can be to work with high school students.  I believe everyone CAN understand and succeed in Algebra with the right explanations and the right amount of personal effort on the part of the student. TECHS allows me to teach a rigorous curriculum using the latest technology including a Smart Board and a document camera. My challenge is to help TECHS students transition successfully from junior high to college level math in a very short time and hopefully enjoy math along the way.
 
In my spare time (that means a few days in the summer) I enjoy walking, reading, gardening, traveling to see family (they're all out of town) and my three cats.
