I began my career in 1987 at DeVilbiss High School teaching physical science (basic, general, and honors), biology (basic and general), and environmental science. After DeVilbiss closed in 1991, I transferred to Woodward High School and continued teaching physical science (basic, general, and honors), biology (basic, general, honors, intro college), environmental science, science research (honors) for the next 14 years. Since 2005, I have been teaching physical science, biology, and environmental science at Toledo Early College High School.

With a teaching philosophy based upon the ancient Chinese proverb, "I hear, I forget, I see, and I remember, I do, and I understand," my goal is to educate the students through total and complete immersion in the process of science. According to the late Dr. Carl Sagan, "We live in a society exquisitely dependent upon science and technology, in which hardly anyone knows anything about science and technology."

Toledo Early College High School is a unique school that allows students to accelerate their learning and get a jump on their college career. Its greatest strength lies in the positive and academic atmosphere that exists amongst its students. The heart and soul of the school lies in the dreams and ambitions of its students molded into reality. Its future is limited only by constraints imposed upon itself by those who make it real. My wish for the school and its students would be that the dream never ends.
